Church Heating Project
The Annual Congregational Meeting voted to move forward with the installation of a new church heating system IF we raise at least $10,000 before August 1st. Currently we have an oil fired, steam heat system in the church. It was installed in the mid-1960’s. The proposed new heating system would be a natural gas, hot water system. The 95% efficiency of the new gas boilers will save us between 33 and 50% on our current annual church fuel bill, or between $23 and 34 hundred per year based on 2012 figures. The new boiler installed would cost $21,000. In six to nine years our fuel savings will pay for the conversion.
Tim Gochinski of Pioneer Heating and Cooling is offering the parts at cost. We have decided to fundraise and to also ask our parishioners to contribute. Robert Adamski has offered the parish a $19,000 0% loan for 39 months to help us spread out our payments, and we thank him for his generous offer. But we need YOUR HELP as well. We are asking for do-nations or pledges to be made for the new heat-ing system. If we receive at least $10,000 in donations by August 1st, we can move forward. If we do not, we will offer to return your donations and cancel or postpone the project. A committee has been formed and several fundraisers are planned for the next few months. Please support these efforts as much as possible. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
To donate to the Church Heating Project please use the pledge cards and envelopes in the church pews, or checks can be made to 'Holy Name of Jesus Church' with a clear notation "for Heating Project". Thank you for your generosity.
An online donation site is now available for your convenience and to share with friends across the country. Click link below to donate online. Please note: when donating online there is a 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction fee that will come out of your donation. If you'd like to avoid this you may send a donation check directly to "Holy Name of Jesus Church" 15 Thayer St., South Deerfield, MA 01373. Please mark 'Heating Project' on your check. Thank you!
